There’s an oft quoted story that goes…
When the elephant is young, a trainer ties a thin rope to its ankle and drives a small stake into the earth. The calf pulls, tires, and finally concludes the rope is stronger than its will. Years pass. Five tons of silent power now stand docile beside that weather-worn peg—not because it can hold her, but because she no longer tests it.
